Hi, I am Mia
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. I'm an expat currently living in Ottawa, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter living abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Canada wasn’t part of the grand plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt solid.
Why I Created Satin Mercuryy Onder
Most online info was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was a truthful, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap—practical advice drawn from real life in Canada.
